This small Washington beach town has six miles of sandy Pacific Ocean beach. One of the unique things about this beach is that you can drive on it. Do take care though, every time I have visited Ocean Shores I have watched at least one vehicle get pulled from the soft sand.
If you pass by the Ocean Shores entrance gate towards the beach you will find Chenois Creek Horse Rentals. We enjoyed a guided beach ride. It’s a great experience for novice riders. The rides are an hour in duration and follow the beach line. The cost is relatively inexpensive at $20 a ride and available nearly every day of the summer season. Do remember to bring cash, they do not take cards. Visit their website to confirm details.
If horses aren’t your think rent a moped or a beach bicycle. Better yet bring a kite or sand toys. There is so much beautiful sand to enjoy. Bring a sweater though, it can be very windy.
After enjoying the beach we went in to town and found Playtime Family Fun. This place has bumper cars, slick track go karts, fast track go karts, and so much more. We took these fast track go karts out for a spin. It was loads of fun.
I’ve been to Ocean Shores several times they have no shortage of tourist activities and lodging. It’s an even better place to visit on the off season, if you’re like me and don’t enjoy the summer time crowds.
